Aluminum Company of Malaysia
Aluminum Company of Malaysia (ALCOM) is the largest manufacturer of aluminum rolled products in Malaysia. They operate a continuous casting, rolling, and coating operation that principally serves Southeast Asia. Products include light gauge foil, fin stock, and coated fin stock used primarily in the packaging and air-conditioning markets. ALCOM is a subsidiary of Novelis, and is publicly traded on Bursa Malaysia.
Challenge
To lower the electrical expense of operating their aluminum rolling facility.
Solution
